First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study compared two methods for controlling pain after major abdominal surgery: injecting morphine into the spine (intrathecal morphine) and a newer nerve block technique (modified thoracoabdominal nerve block). 56 adults were enrolled. The goal was to see which method provides better pain relief and reduces the need for additional opioids. Results will help guide safer, more effective pain management after surgery.
