New pain pump method could extend relief after surgery

NCT ID NCT05091905

Summary

This study is testing two different ways to deliver numbing medicine through a small tube placed near nerves after arm or leg surgery. Researchers want to see if a newer method, where the pump gives automatic, adjustable doses, works as well for pain and lasts longer than the standard method of a steady, low-dose drip. The goal is to help patients manage their pain more effectively at home during recovery.
