New approach aims to end silent suffering: better pain care for dementia patients
NCT ID NCT05858996
Summary
This study is testing a year-long training program to help nursing home staff better assess and manage pain in residents with dementia. The program involves monthly team meetings, staff education, mentoring, and tracking pain outcomes. Researchers will compare this intensive approach against basic staff education alone to see which better reduces pain for 300 residents across 12 nursing homes.
