Can changing how we talk about pain calm the Body's alarm system?
NCT ID NCT06400329
Summary
This study compared two ways of educating older adults with knee osteoarthritis about their pain. One group received standard education about joint disease, while another learned about the complex biology of pain itself. Researchers measured the body's physical stress responses, like heart rate and sweating, to see if the newer 'pain neuroscience' education approach helps calm the nervous system's reaction to pain.
