New study tests better pain relief for kidney transplant patients

NCT ID NCT03737604

Summary

This study compares two different methods for managing pain after kidney transplant surgery. Researchers want to see which approach works better to reduce pain and limit the need for opioid painkillers. The trial involves 200 adult patients who are receiving kidney transplants. One method uses a single injection of a long-lasting numbing medicine, while the other uses a small tube to deliver numbing medicine continuously for a few days.
