First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tested whether a quadratus lumborum (QL) block—a numbing injection between abdominal muscle layers—provides better pain control and easier recovery than the standard epidural for people having laparoscopic colon surgery. Researchers measured opioid use and pain scores in 35 adults. The goal was to find a simpler, effective way to manage post-surgery pain.
