Smartphone app aims to ease cancer pain for kids at home

NCT ID NCT03384134

Summary

This study tested a smartphone app called Pain Buddy, designed to help children with cancer manage pain and other symptoms while receiving outpatient chemotherapy. The app allowed kids to track their symptoms daily and provided coping skills training, with the goal of improving their quality of life. Researchers wanted to see if using the app could reduce symptom distress and pain severity compared to just monitoring symptoms without the extra training.
