First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study compares two types of nerve blocks—paravertebral block and erector spinae plane block—for controlling pain during thoracotomy (chest surgery). The goal is to see which method reduces the need for opioid painkillers during and after surgery, using a special pain monitor. About 60 adults undergoing elective chest surgery will take part. The results may help make pain management safer and more effective.
