First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looked at different ways to measure pain in premature babies (born before 36 weeks). Researchers compared a standard behavioral pain scale with measures of heart rate and skin conductance. The goal was to find a more objective way to assess pain in these vulnerable infants, who cannot tell us when they are hurting.
