First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a personalized strategy for removing breathing tubes (weaning) from intensive care unit patients works better than usual care. The approach used daily checks and chose the best method based on each patient's risk factors, like obesity or heart disease. The goal was to reduce complications and improve success rates. The study involved 691 adults on ventilators for over 24 hours.
