First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether adding ozone therapy to standard gum surgery improves outcomes for people with advanced gum disease (stage III periodontitis). Twenty-four adults received surgery on both sides of their mouth, with one side also getting ozone treatment. Researchers measured gum pocket depth and attachment levels over 12 months to see if ozone helped control the disease better than surgery alone.
