Love hormone tested for rare genetic disorder
NCT ID NCT02804373
Summary
This study tested whether oxytocin, a hormone sometimes called the 'love hormone,' given as a nasal spray could improve behavior and social skills in adults with Prader-Willi syndrome. Researchers enrolled 50 adults with genetically confirmed Prader-Willi syndrome to see if the treatment could help with social interactions and eating behaviors. The study also used brain scans to understand how oxytocin might work in the brain for people with this condition.
