Love hormone spray tested to ease burden on dementia caregivers

NCT ID NCT06364228

Summary

This study is testing whether a daily nasal spray containing oxytocin, a natural hormone, can help reduce chronic stress and improve quality of life for women who are family caregivers for someone with dementia. Researchers will enroll 32 female caregivers to receive either a low dose, high dose, or placebo spray for 21 days. They will measure stress levels, quality of life, and brain activity before and after treatment to see if the spray helps.
