First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily nasal spray of oxytocin, a natural hormone, can improve bone density in children with autism spectrum disorder (ages 6-18). About 96 children will receive either oxytocin or a placebo for 12 months, followed by 6 months where everyone gets oxytocin. The goal is to see if oxytocin can help strengthen bones and improve overall bone health.
