Summary
This early-phase study tests whether combining oxytocin with oxycodone can reduce the risk of opioid abuse while still relieving pain. Researchers will give 45 older adults different combinations of the drugs across six sessions and measure pain, subjective effects, and decision-making. Participants must have some past opioid experience but no current chronic pain.
