Nose surgery oxygen trick may shield cells
NCT ID NCT07158073
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a special monitor called Oxygen Reserve Index (ORI) during nose surgery can prevent giving patients too much oxygen, which can cause cell stress. Sixty adults having rhinoplasty were randomly assigned to have oxygen levels guided by ORI or standard care. Researchers measured markers of oxidative stress in the blood to see if ORI guidance made a difference.
