Summary
This study tested a special filter (Oxiris membrane) used during heart-lung bypass to see if it could reduce inflammation and improve tiny blood vessel function after heart surgery. 70 adults having elective heart surgery took part. The goal was to measure blood flow in the mouth lining one day after surgery.
