New filter may boost survival in septic shock patients

NCT ID NCT07569406

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026

Summary

This study looked back at the records of 400 adults in intensive care with septic shock and acute kidney injury who needed dialysis. It compared those who used a special filter called Oxiris, which also removes toxins and inflammation, to those who used standard filters. The goal was to see if the Oxiris filter was linked to lower death rates and better kidney recovery. The study is complete and aims to provide insights for future treatment decisions.
