Saving future motherhood: freezing ovaries for girls in medical crisis

NCT ID NCT02646384

Summary

This study offers an experimental procedure to freeze ovarian tissue from girls (newborn to 17 years old) who face medical treatments like chemotherapy that could leave them infertile. The goal is to preserve the tissue so it might be used in the future to help them get pregnant and have a baby. The research is tracking how many successful pregnancies and live births result from transplanting the frozen tissue back later in life.
