NCT ID NCT05236686
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing a surgery called hepato-celiac lymphadenectomy for people with advanced or recurrent ovarian cancer. The surgery removes lymph nodes near the liver and stomach that may contain cancer. The goal is to see if this extra step, along with standard tumor removal, helps keep the cancer from coming back for at least two years. About 94 participants will be enrolled.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Hepato-celiac lymphadenectomy (surgery to remove lymph nodes near the liver and stomach)
What this could lead to
If this surgery works well, it could become a standard part of treatment to help control advanced ovarian cancer and delay its return.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study (94 people) with no comparison group, so results may not be definitive. Surgery carries risks like infection, bleeding, and damage to nearby organs.
