Blood test score may guide ovarian cancer treatment decisions
NCT ID NCT06660147
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a score called KELIM can predict how well ovarian cancer patients respond to maintenance treatment with PARP inhibitors after initial chemotherapy. Researchers will analyze data from 243 patients who took part in the PAOLA-1 trial. If KELIM proves useful, it could help doctors personalize treatment and avoid giving strong medications to those unlikely to benefit.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If KELIM proves reliable, doctors could better match ovarian cancer patients to PARP inhibitor treatment, avoiding unnecessary side effects and focusing therapy on those most likely to benefit.
What could go wrong
This is a retrospective analysis of existing data, not a new treatment trial. The KELIM score may not prove accurate enough to change clinical practice, and results may not apply to all patient groups.
