First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This early-stage trial tests a new robotic surgery method for esophageal cancer that avoids cuts between the ribs, which may cause less chest pain and faster recovery. About 31 patients will be randomly assigned to either the new approach or standard surgery. The main goals are to see if the new method is safe and can be done without switching to standard techniques.
