First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at whether the Otago Exercise Programme, a set of simple leg-strengthening and balance exercises, could help older adults improve their physical fitness, balance, and quality of life. A total of 120 people aged 60 and older from Sarawak, Malaysia, took part. Half did the exercises for 12 weeks, while the other half continued their normal routine. The goal was to see if this program could reduce fall risk and help seniors stay active and independent.
