Can a simple doctor referral prevent surgery complications?
NCT ID NCT05845021
Summary
This study is testing whether having surgeons directly refer osteoporosis patients to bone specialists before hip or knee replacement surgery leads to fewer complications. Researchers will compare this new referral pathway to the current standard of care where patients are told to follow up with their regular doctor. The goal is to see if the specialist approach reduces implant problems and bone fractures after surgery.
