Scientists probe Fat-Bone connection in osteoporosis
NCT ID NCT04377880
Summary
This study aimed to understand how secretions from fat cells might contribute to bone loss in osteoporosis. Researchers collected bone cells from 20 adults undergoing hip replacement surgery and exposed them to fat cell secretions in the lab. They measured how these secretions changed the bone cells' activity and compared this to each patient's bone density to look for patterns.
