New online tool aims to help arthritis patients decide on surgery
NCT ID NCT03102580
Summary
This study tested a web-based, personalized care plan to help people with knee or hip osteoarthritis make better-informed decisions about their treatment. Over 5,700 patients worked with their doctors to use this tool, which provided information on pain trends, treatment options, and potential surgery benefits and risks. Researchers wanted to see if this guided approach improved the decision-making process and led to better pain and function outcomes compared to usual care.
