Scientists hunt for early warning signs of arthritis in joint fluid
NCT ID NCT02664870
Summary
This study aims to collect and analyze fluid from the shoulder, hip, and knee joints to find biological markers that signal the start or progression of osteoarthritis. Researchers will enroll 149 adults who are already scheduled for joint surgery to build a collection of these fluid samples. The goal is to better understand the disease so doctors can one day detect it earlier and develop more effective treatments.
