Can your own blood and fat heal aching joints? new trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07434115
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-phase trial will test four orthobiologic treatments—PRP, bone marrow concentrate, hyaluronic acid, and nanofat—in 300 adults with various muscle, joint, tendon, or bone conditions. The goal is to see if these natural substances can reduce pain and improve joint function over six months. Participants will receive injections as part of routine care and report their pain and function using standard questionnaires.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), bone marrow concentrate, hyaluronic acid, and nanofat
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could point toward effective, minimally invasive options for easing pain and improving joint function in common musculoskeletal conditions.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very early, single-center study with no control group, so results may not be reliable or generalizable. The treatments are not yet proven to work better than placebo.
