NCT ID NCT05814042
First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding calcium to standard oral rehydration solution (ORS) helps adults with severe watery diarrhea, including cholera, recover faster. 396 adults aged 18-60 with acute diarrhea were randomly assigned to receive either calcium-enriched ORS or standard ORS. The main goal was to see if the new formula reduces the amount of stool passed and shortens the illness.
