Summary
This study looks at whether diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) causes early injury to the kidneys and heart in children newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Researchers will measure specific markers in the blood and urine of 45 children with and without DKA, plus healthy controls. The goal is to find better ways to identify kids at risk for complications early on.
