Summary
This early-stage study tests whether suvorexant, a drug used for insomnia, is safe and tolerable for veterans with major depression who are at high risk for suicide. Thirty participants will take the medication daily for four weeks and complete questionnaires and computer tests. The goal is to see if the drug can be used in future larger studies to target thoughts related to suicide.
