NCT ID NCT06504940
First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests a new drug called orelabrutinib combined with chemotherapy for people newly diagnosed with marginal zone lymphoma, a rare blood cancer. Researchers want to see if the combination helps shrink tumors and keeps the cancer from coming back. The trial includes two groups: younger patients getting orelabrutinib with bendamustine and rituximab, and older or frailer patients getting orelabrutinib with obinutuzumab. All participants who respond well will continue on orelabrutinib alone as maintenance therapy.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Orelabrutinib combined with bendamustine and rituximab or obinutuzumab
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more effective first-line treatment for marginal zone lymphoma, potentially leading to longer remission and better disease control.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with only 69 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The drug combination can cause side effects like low blood counts and infections.
