New balloon treatment may keep leg arteries open longer after stenting

NCT ID NCT03791970

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study compares two balloon treatments used after placing a stent in long blockages (over 10 cm) in the leg arteries of people with peripheral artery disease. One balloon is coated with a drug to help keep the artery open, while the other is a standard balloon. The goal is to see which approach better prevents the artery from narrowing again and reduces the need for repeat procedures.
