NCT ID NCT07526064
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two ways of giving misoprostol—by mouth or vaginally—to women who have a missed abortion in the first trimester. The goal is to see which route works better and causes fewer side effects. One hundred women will take part, and researchers will measure how quickly the pregnancy tissue is expelled and whether any remains in the uterus.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors choose the best route for misoprostol to manage missed abortion with fewer side effects.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial (Phase 1) with only 100 participants. Results may not apply to all women, and the optimal route may still be unclear.
