New pill trial aims to replace insulin shots for transplant patients
NCT ID NCT05702931
Summary
This study is testing if a daily pill called semaglutide (Rybelsus) can safely and effectively control high blood sugar in people who have recently received a kidney transplant. It will involve 104 patients who will take either the real pill or a placebo (sugar pill) for 14 weeks, in addition to their standard diabetes care. The main goal is to see if the pill works as well as current treatments, with fewer risks like low blood sugar and weight gain.
