Pill vs. insulin: new hope for kidney transplant patients with diabetes?

NCT ID NCT05702931

Summary

This study is testing if a daily pill called semaglutide (Rybelsus) is a safe and effective way to control high blood sugar in people who have recently received a kidney transplant. It will compare the pill to a placebo (dummy pill) in 104 patients, with both groups also receiving standard care. The main goal is to see if the pill controls blood sugar as well as current treatments, while also checking if it helps patients use less insulin, lose weight, and avoid low blood sugar episodes.
