Could a common diabetes pill slow down Alzheimer's?

NCT ID NCT07200622

Summary

This study is testing if a pill called oral semaglutide, currently used for diabetes, is safe and might help slow Alzheimer's disease. It will involve 60 people with mild Alzheimer's to see if the drug protects the brain's communication points. The main goal is to check safety, while a secondary goal uses brain scans to see if the drug helps preserve brain connections over one year.
