Simple mouth care could protect tiniest babies from serious infections

NCT ID NCT05167318

Summary

This study is testing whether cleaning the mouths of very small premature babies more often can help prevent serious lung infections and breathing problems. Researchers are comparing mouth care done every 3-4 hours to care done every 12 hours in 40 babies. They will check if more frequent cleaning changes the germs in the baby's mouth and leads to better breathing outcomes.
