Scientists test new pill form of opioid treatment
NCT ID NCT06086275
Summary
This early-stage study aimed to understand how the body absorbs and processes buprenorphine when taken as a pill, compared to an injection. Researchers gave 18 healthy volunteers different doses of the medication during short hospital stays to measure drug levels in their blood. The goal was to gather basic information that could help develop better oral treatment options for opioid use disorder in the future.
