First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new oral appliance called DPOA that gently and gradually moves the jaw forward during sleep to keep the airway open in people with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Forty adults aged 20 to 65 will be enrolled and monitored with sleep tests. The goal is to see if this device reduces breathing pauses and improves sleep quality better than standard appliances.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
dynamic propulsion oral appliance (DPOA)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a more comfortable and effective oral appliance for people with mild to moderate sleep apnea.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The device may not work better than existing options.
