C-Section pain breakthrough: scientists pinpoint ideal morphine dose

NCT ID NCT07023497

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aims to find the most effective dose of morphine given into the spinal fluid to control pain after a C-section. Researchers will test different doses in 100 healthy women having planned C-sections, adjusting the dose based on how well the previous participant's pain was controlled. The goal is to achieve at least 12 hours of pain relief with a low pain score (3 or less out of 10) while minimizing side effects.
