New study aims to tackle opioid crisis in native communities with culturally adapted screening

Summary
This study looks at how well a culturally tailored screening and brief intervention program works for chronic pain and opioid misuse in American Indian and Alaska Native communities. About 225 adults who receive care at three participating clinics and have chronic pain or opioid issues will take part. Researchers will track how many people get screened and gather feedback from staff and clients to see if the approach is effective and acceptable.
