Massive study to see if new rules saved lives in opioid crisis
NCT ID NCT07232641
Summary
This study aims to understand if recent federal policy changes made it easier for veterans to get and stay in treatment for opioid addiction. Researchers will compare health records from before and after the policy changes for over 185,000 veterans with opioid or alcohol use disorders. They want to see if easier access to medication treatment led to fewer emergency room visits, hospital stays, and overdoses.
