Can hip replacement patients skip the opioids? new trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07348627
Summary
This study is testing a new pain management plan for adults getting hip replacement surgery. It aims to see if using mostly non-opioid medications and techniques can safely reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers after the operation. Researchers will compare pain levels and recovery in patients who get a standard opioid prescription versus those who get a very limited supply.
