Summary

This study tested a new set of step-by-step guidelines to help primary care doctors better respond to concerning opioid use behaviors in their chronic pain patients. Researchers worked with 49 doctors to see if these guidelines were practical to use and acceptable in real clinics. The goal was to create a system that could reduce unsafe opioid use and related harms.
