First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at how fast or slow a dose of hydromorphone (a strong painkiller) is given through an IV to cancer patients with pain. The goal is to see if the speed affects how well it controls pain and how likely it is to be misused. About 84 hospitalized cancer patients will take part, and each will receive both a fast and a slow infusion to compare the effects.
