First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked back at the records of 1772 adults who had heart surgery with a heart-lung machine. It compared those who received standard opioid painkillers to those who got an opioid-free approach using lidocaine. The goal was to see if avoiding opioids led to fewer complications, shorter hospital stays, or lower death rates.
