Can a simple bag stop opioid pills from falling into the wrong hands?

NCT ID NCT05875857

Summary

This study is testing whether giving patients a special bag and instructions helps them safely destroy leftover opioid pain pills after hip or knee replacement surgery. Researchers want to see if this approach prevents unused pills from being stored or misused at home. About 163 patients are being contacted 6-8 weeks after surgery to ask what they did with their leftover medication.
