Summary
This study tested a computer tool built into electronic health records to help primary care doctors better identify and treat patients with opioid use disorder. Over 10,000 patients across 30 clinics were involved to see if the tool improved how often addiction was diagnosed and treated with medications. The goal was to make effective care for opioid addiction a standard part of routine primary care visits.
