First seen Mar 02, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at how much fluid doctors should use when cleaning open fractures (broken bones that poke through the skin). About 200 adults will be randomly assigned to one of two fluid amounts. Researchers will track infections and healing over 12 months to find out which approach works better. Participants answer questions at their regular checkups and won't need extra visits.
